Cavallo has one hotel. The rest of the island is private villas belonging to their owners — some of whom make them available for rent through specialist agencies. There is no budget option, no hostel, no apartment block. That is not an oversight. It is what the island is.
What started as the island’s lobster shack has become one of the most distinctive small luxury hotels in France. Built directly from the pink granite of the island itself, des Pêcheurs sits right at the water’s edge — you step from the bar onto the rocks, from the rocks into the sea. Fifty rooms and suites, all decorated in the blues and whites of the surrounding water. The hotel’s private beach is the only true sand beach on the island. The indoor thalassotherapy spa uses seawater drawn directly from the strait. Two restaurants: the main dining room for dinner with sea views by night, and The Shore Club for lunch and cocktails on the terrace directly above the water. Tennis courts. Boat and bicycle hire.
